Bump.
I got the Chief to sign a year or two ago, but it never hurts to have a back-up.Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

Re: Deleware county sherriff?
I asked the same question a little while back:

I will find out the hard way soon enough. I've got a dealer who's been highly recommended. I just have to find his shop!
If the department is not signing, then I'm going to go the trust route. I've had a lawyer recommended for that too.
I'm going to take a photo copy of my other Form-4 along in the hopes that will help.

The Chief is dragging his feet. Been there five times now, still no signatures.
I may find out first-hand about the sheriff shortly.Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

Re: Deleware county sherriff?
I just set up an appointment. They asked me whether I was a permit holder, but otherwise just set up a time.
I will update as to how it goes.

Re: Deleware county sherriff?
The secretary did tell me when he usually has time. That wasn't working real well, so I just started going whenever I had time.
I did, eventually, get the chief to sign off, and mailed the form this morning. I was about to go to the sherriff, but gave the local PD one last try.Removed NRA Life Member pic. LaPierre and Chris Cox are ruining NRA.

Re: Deleware county sherriff?
I've read about other people presenting a license to carry when getting a form-4 signed. Is that required to have? I was asked last time and I had one. But it has since expired and I just haven't bothered to renew it.
I haven't been carrying or shopping for handguns either.
I was going to take a copy of my other form-4 on the theory that if I already have one, what harm is another?
