👍school district in Wyoming recently used a gymnasium as a shooting range, training fifth and sixth grade students in marksmanship during PE. Hot Springs County School District #1, in the small town of Thermopolis, shared photos of the sharpshooting session in a Feb. 2 Facebook post, and it quickly caught the attention of thousands. McClatchy News has obtained a screengrab of the Facebook post, which is no longer publicly available.

Bogey, Yes they did, I have the bygone yearbook pictures to prove it! They had a men's and women's shooting teams. Archery was also a class....

Such a shame how fearful the district has become.

By they way, there is likely more than one gun in those school on any given day.

My dad used to teach there from the early 60s to mid 90s. He told me all about,
the range and whatnot. It used to be a good school. Thats why he retired when he did.

I've been told that Kutztown HS still has a rifle team.

Several NEPA high schools still have rifle teams. I*ve been inside during a match, and it was nice to see the long line of kids waiting their turn to shoot.

Was acquainted a few years ago with a guy in Hawaii that ran a high school shooting team.
Hawaii for heavens sake. Check out the laws there if you're not familiar. Hint, very restrictive.
Need more shooting teams here.

North Pocono still has a rifle team. I believe they took States two years ago.

Younger daughter was contemplating joining, but went with lacrosse instead...AFTER I built her a range in the back yard.

And, yes, we need far more of this!

Upper st clair has a rifle team that practices at my club. Some very friendly and mature young men and women on that team.

I believe bethel park has a range in the school.
