Driving in NJ
I work in NJ and trying to find time to go to the range most of the time before or after work would it be ok if I drive into jersey with my gun or guns. I will lock the mags in the glove box with ammo in them and keep the guns in the back of the jeep rifles with cable locks and my 22 in its locked case and the pf9 in a holster in my gear bag.
Can I get in deep shit for any of this or is it ok because I was at or going to the range.Last edited by cj11; March 15th, 2010 at 09:45 PM.

So cant bring anything into jersey even if the mags are seperate from the guns damn guess it will be more difficult to get to the range. That sucks

Re: Driving in NJ
Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I think you even need some kind of written permission to go to a range in NJ when you're from out of state. Something about NRA sanctioned event..... That might be New York State though... I don't remember.
If I were you, I would erase all information here that could incriminate you. Delete your first post and hope no one from NJ law enforcement has read it. I will remove your quote from my last post.Μολὼν λάβε

Re: Driving in NJ
I was only Jokin Ha Ha
The range I use is in pa if i go in the morning it was easeier to go to work rather then driving out of my way to home and then to work guess i wont do that any more.
I thought I red that as long as the ammo and the guns are seperate it was ok .

Re: Driving in NJ
If you are driving through NJ on your way to a destination, then the federal "peaceable journey" law applies. If you're stopping in NJ to go to work and somewhere along the way you get pulled over for a traffic stop and the cop sees anything firearms related.... Well I'd bet the house that you'd be arrested and charged.

Re: Driving in NJ
If you are a member of a range you may transport the guns and ammo locked separately, but not in the console or glove box of the vehicle. If you do not have a trunk, they must be in locked or securely wrapped containers away from your reach. See: NJ Law
Hollow Points of any caliber are forbidden, unless you are a resident you may transport from place of purchase directly to your home. Otherwise possession of Hollow Points even without a gun, are illegal.NRA Certified Instructor Pistol & Shotgun
