Future group buy ideas? Looking for input
I am looking to open up a group buy forum on here, which would include several products, some gun related, some not. If the deals are good, would this be of interest to you? Some of the deals would be food based items...a variety of meat cuts...Flank steaks, Brisket, Fillet Mignon. The products are all fresh, not frozen. Initial buys would be for local pickup only. The benefit of these group buys would be the savings in real cost. Looking to keep this below retail costs, but will depend on the size of the group buy. Larger buys will generate a larger discount.
Looking at a night vision group buy too. A new company with an amazing array of future products. The evolution of night vision is rapidly changing...these products look to keep up with that change and evolve with it. The product line I am looking to do a group buy with is upgradeable. Cost savings on the upgraded features will be passed on as well.
Does a group buy even appeal to you? Looking for input from those who have participated in a group buy...what you liked/didn't like. Also looking for input from those who would consider a group buy.
Thanks...Renov8

Thanks RenoV8
I could be interested in some food based group buys. The night vision option would probably be out of my price range even as a group purchase.Socialism is for the people, not the socialists - Andrew Wilkow

Re: Future group buy ideas? Looking for input
The food based group buy makes sense. I have been talking with a huge distributor of Canadian beef. They have offered me a spot to do this...try it out and see where it goes. Since they already deliver to me area, I would be another stop. I would look to buy a 1000 lbs of beef at one shot and then have everyone pick it up locally. I have done that with ammo buys and it makes it a lot easier for all involved. Moving 1000 lbs of beef is not easy...as it needs to be kept refrigerated. I have a couple chest refrigerators I would use to keep it at temps.
The night vision I am looking at is roughly 25% of the cost of conventional analog NV...and that is for a full set of panoramic goggles. Its crazy how advanced this tech has become. Factor in the new products from Holosum...IR lasers and you have a revolution in tech for civilian markets. Group buys make it that much more affordable. At least that is my view on it.

Ammo. get together a pallet of 5.56, 40k rounds. I bet 20 people would be good for 2k rounds.

I see these set up from time to time and that was my first thought as I read the OP, so I looked for a photo to post as a joke.
Here's the article it's from, in case anyone ever wondered about those $2 steaks!

Re: Future group buy ideas? Looking for input
I have done multiple ammo group buys for pallets at a time. 9mm and 223 are the favorites. I have a PMC contact I get it from...problem is I need to front the money and then spend a month collecting it back. The 20 bucks I have on a case isn't worth the risk any more. I might do a pallet here and there if the demand is 100%. 90k rounds to a pallet of 9mm, 128k rounds to a pallet of 223.

I am still working with the manufacturer in setting this up. Once I get all the details worked out, I will post it up here for you all to see and respond. I did a ton of GB over the years....the climate is getting hot again, which makes these buys even better. Expanding the buys to include non gun items makes sense...especially with the cost of protein these days. I am not eating any stinking bugs.
