    Default Aggravating Experiance

So I went to WalMart the other day to pick up a bulk pack of .22 ammo and there was a guy waiting at the outdoor counter in front of me. The clerk who was working behind the desk went to another department and was on his way back and asked the person in front of me what he needed. The guy asked if he could see one of the rifles and when the clerk asked which one he responded "the big black one." He then proceded to swing the firearm around looking through the scope at customers and said to the clerk "man I could take someone's head off with this." I then thought here we go he is going to get a talking to and an education about the proper use of firearms but to mys suprise and astonishment the clerk just laughed and said "yeah that rifle would do some damage." I was completely disgusted I have never seen anything like this happen before in my life....I guess I shouldn't be too suprised though it is WalMart that we are talking about. Anyways I thought this would be a good place to vent my frustrations about idiots.

No I didn't say anything to him I should have but I think the overall shock of the experience left me speechless. I have been going to gun stores all of my life and I have never encountered anything like this at all. After it happened I wished I would have said something.

The kid behind the counter might have never experienced anything like that as well. I don't think that you could be upset with him if you were not able to inform the ignorant guy handling the rifle. Now next time you encounter a guy that doesn't have a clue you will be more likely to educate than sit back and be angry.

and HGC thinks other gun shops need to follow Walmart's lead on how they sell firearms.

Point taken, I guess I didn't think of it that way the whole situation just seemed very foriegn and uncomfortable to me. I guess I just assumed that everyone knew that there is a proper form of "etiquette" that goes along with handling firearms.

If you could recollect about what was the age of the individual(estimate of course). I find it seriously disturbing that someone is saying something like that while handling a firearm. I won't preach I just know had that been me I would certainly educated the man probably not in the most polite manner (not the right answer i know) but my temper for stupidity is very low. I would love to advise that man that shooting someone isn't like he imagines in call of duty. Regardless of what anyone says if you get satisfaction from taking life from a human being you need some serious help. Then I suppose I would tell the man to look into proper firearm education and safety tips.
