numSlides of totalImages Roughly 15 weapons are in the hands of unknown criminals after a gun store was burglarized in New Kensington.

The incident happened at Jolar's Armory sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Police say the burglars cut a padlock on the front gate, then broke the front window of the store.

Once inside, they took about 10 handguns and at least three semi-automatic rifles similar to the ones used by police.

Police believe the burglars put the weapons in a satchel and quickly ran off because an alarm was sounding.

The ATF is now investigating along with Westmoreland County detectives.

They are reviewing surveillance video that has not been released at this time.

The current owners of the store declined to comment on the burglary as well.

They have been in business for about 25 years and say this is the first time that they've had a problem.

Police say they are concerned that these weapons are on the streets and the public should be concerned too.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Kensington Police.

I am concerned there are so many repeat criminals are back on the street committing crimes just like this.

The guns were locked up, how come the criminals that stole them weren’t locked up?

You're right about that. Even with an alarm system, that's way too easy.

Padlocked, surveillance system, alarmed... other than being totally bricked up solid anyone who`s determined to get in won`t let any security measure stop them. Now who was that couple that got into the DC State House diner
