Transfer from Mo to PA
I realize this may have been addressed before, but just to be sure I am not in violation of any laws, I thought I would ask for information. My nephew wishes to give me a handgun as a gift - he lives in Missouri. He thought I would have to contact the county sheriff's department for transfer procedures, but I thought I had read a FFL in another state could transfer to a FFL in PA. And, do I give the FFl in MO any paperwork? Any information is greatly appreciated, since he wishes to gift me a Sig P226. Thank you.

Re: Transfer from Mo to PA
You will have to find a local FFL that will accept the firearmd and complete the transfer. Be sure to find out if he will accept the gun being shipped from your nephew or if it has to be shipped from another FFL. If your nephew ships it, it has to be through UPS or FedEx. Your nephew will then have to have the gun shipped to the FFL you choose. When it comes in, go to the shop, fill out the paperwork, pay the fees and the gun is now yours.

Re: Transfer from Mo to PA
Actually, your nephew can send the firearm directly to a Pa. FFL himself. You'll have to find one that accepts shipments from non-FFLs, and he can't use USPS, only common carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.). There is no legal requirement to use a FFL on both ends, only on the recipient's end.
