Going for my LTCF in Philly.
Hey guys, Steve here. I posted here last december about me going for my Carry permit. Well, due to vacations, work, ect. . . I never got down there. So I got all my things together and I am heading down Friday at 8am.
I know I will get it. The only thing on my record ever is a speeding ticket! ( I am fighting that on April 8th too.)
I am going to buy a Glock 27 to carry once I get my permit. My dad gave me alot of his pistols, but they are a bit heavy to carry all the time.
I have a 9mm Beretta P2, Colt Python .357 Mag stub nose, Para 1911 45acp, and few others.
I take the Beretta to the range ALL the time. I am a member over at Pistol People.(great place)
So thats it for now. I know its gonna be the full 45 day wait due to Philly's ways. O well.
If anyone is going to Pistol People, PM me. Im always looking for a new shooting buddy.

I was under the impression that you weren't allowed to pack in the city, was I mistaken?

Re: Going for my LTCF in Philly.
You must have a PA LTCF or a similar permit/license from a reciprocal state to carry openly or concealed in Philly. No such document is required to open carry in any other part of the state. Of course there are places where carrying is prohibited even with a LTCF such as inside a courthouse, post offices, etc.
The LTCF issued by any PA county sheriff IS valid in Philly. The police chief in Philly issues LTCFs there because it has over 1 million people (city of the first class).
ETA: Also of course a LTCF issued in Philly is good anywhere in the state.Last edited by HiredGoon; March 25th, 2009 at 10:51 AM.
