You've listed 3 different guns there, the Romak 3 being the cheapest ($800) firing 7.62x54r and the SVD goes from alot more http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=91915014 shooting 7.62x51 NATO
while the M76 cranks em out in 8x57 with Centerfire Systems listing a price at 2,394.99

So my question is which one are looking for?

Here's a Tigr (sometimes written Tiger), which is a russian made civilian SVD without flash hider or bayonet lugs for $1700.
    http://gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=91993787

Doesn't specify what caliber. They're made in 54r and .308.

I'd love an SVD but with the import ban you pay more than they are worth. On the open market they'd be around/under $1000. For what you'd spend on an SVD or Chinese NDM you could get an M1a or AR platform that outperforms it.

Romanian PSLs are fun but still really just AKs.

I've never seen the Yugos in person and while everthing Zastava makes is rock-solid, a lot of the ones you see here use US barrels and receivers and you are probably paying triple price for rarity.

At the risk of sounding like a parrot, I echo what Willie D says.

Also to emphasize the Romanian PSL/FPK and a host of other names to include "Dragunov" is absolutely nothing like it, save for the stock and general appearance. The two are different guns with different operating systems.

Ditto about ridiculous prices as well, but hey, one day...

Check out classicarms.us for the Romanian PSL. Otherwise the only place to get a real SVD (and a Chinese one at that) is Gunbroker, be prepared to spend over $2000.

I would not spend 800$ on a Romak 3 there pretty much a glorified AK and there not all that accurate. There are much better choices out there for that kind of money IMO.

What do you mean "not that accurate"? My PSL happens to have minute of man accuracy!

Mine can only do 3" 5 shot groups at 100yds with Russian surplus ammo. With handloads(which I'm still working on) I've been down to 1" 5 shot groups depending on the weather. I do have the 8x scope on it. I would however be willing to bet that the scope mount and the scope itself are the major limiting factors of the rifle.

If you're looking for a plinker that doesn't cost all that much to shoot it's just fine. Not to mention it gets alot of looks at the range. But if you are looking for an ultra accurate semi then you should probably look elsewhere. I'm actually debating wether to sell mine since I've been looking at some other toys and my safe space is maxed out......

Is this the rifle you are talking about?
