Storage Tempature problem for a Glock
Hey all. I am currently visiting my girlfriend at her parent's house in...Maryland. I am in college and I was moving out of my house for winter break and I had to bring my firearm with me. I have a Glock 22 .40 cal.
Her parents are less than enthusiastic about me having a gun so I left it in my car and it's absolutely freezing outside (there is a huge snow storm). Should I leave my 50 rounds of .40 and my glock outside in the cold or should I bring it inside and hide it in my luggage? What would be healthier for the gun? I'm leaving on Monday or Tuesday as soon as the roads clear up.
Thanks,
Tom

Although I have no statistical evidence or documented facts, I would'nt worry about it. IMO leaving it in the car wont be a problem at all.

DO NOT FIRE THAT AMMO after letting it cold soak for that long. Send it to me for proper disposal.

Relax, The first glock was designed for army use. Gun and ammo are not that fragile. Will survive and function at any temperature found at your latitude.

You will have NO problems with the gun OR the ammo due to temps.
I found ammo in my grandparents attic that was from the war (WWII) It still fires. Thats in some serious extreme attic temps too. UPS AND DOWNS!

Speaking of WWII... these men carried and fired ammo in conditions much worse than would be found in the trunk of a car.
As for the Glock, no it will not harm it.
Google "Glock Torture Test" and see some of the crazy things that have been done to them.I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

When you do eventually bring it inside, be aware of condensation that might appear with the drastic temperature change.
