squid has many meanings, but in the MC world, its derogatory, none really refer to Sailors

they think the MC term originated after WWII with the multitude of young sailors on the west coast riding nasty 2stroke cycles around as cheap transportation, casuing accidents, etc.

squid is usually a rider on a sportbike who is fairly inexperienced, thus has quick jerky acceleration bursts in traffic, along with poorly timed and erratic direction changes.

Also they rarely wear protective gear, eschewing helmets, gloves, armor jackets and pants, often seen riding in shorts, flipflops, and tanktops while performing dumbass manouevers on public streets.
