Default 1911 torture test (in mud)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEAB...e_gdata_player

I apologize if the link doesn't work. The title of the video is 1911 muck test by Sturmgewerhe. I have problems posting the actual video on my phone.

Try and look past how he throws the gun into the muck. I cringed because of two reasons. 1. Its a beautiful 1911 and he threw it in the mud. 2. Because of the unsafe gun handling. But the point remains that a 1911 can take a lot. I've seen numerous times on forums where people say if you just get a spec of dirt in there the 1911 wont run right. Well I felt I needed to share this with you.

I don't think ill ever try this myself with my own Kimber, but it's nice to see that 1911 didn't have any problems.

Poor safety aside, that wasn't much of a test. he dropped it in a puddle... Remove the slide, scoop the mud in, replace the slide, and then fire it! lol My Ruger would do it, but it's hard to stop a P95... lol I should try it with my 1911...

There is a similar video of someone doing this and worse to a RIA 1911. You could hear the grit as closes the slide after the mud drys, never had any misfires/FTF/FTE.

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Ahhh, sorry, should've clarified: the one with the RIA that seems to be even more torturous.

Just goes to show that John Moses Browing knew more than his many critics

I would NOT try that with a Vega or AMT version of the 1911 as they were not exactly done to spec.

Want more fun do the same to a Browning Hi Power
    gotta love her ;)

Wow, it's almost the same quality as a Hi-Point.

and a trip to the house of pain.
