I'm not defending him or his actions in any way what so ever but I think the DA was trying to make a name for themselves in this case.
I mean really. If he was just some poor ole mommys boy from the streets I think the entire case wouldve been handled differently.

That's his own stupidity. Manhattan is not a the place to carry illegally. The gun laws suck there but laws are laws. That's why I don't go there as much as I would like to.

This must tie in with the other thread about the Mayors against illegal guns (You show em Bloomberg). Had the guy dead to rights for violating at least 3 different gun laws and they plead it down to one lesser offense. Good job! Nice to see they really don't mean what they say.

What about the charges in NJ? I'm pretty sure he broke a shitload in that state as well. Just to get a loaded gun, if legally owned in that state, into NYC he had to break a few.

When it happened do you remember Bloomberg coming out and taking a stand on it? He said that Burress would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He deserves everything he got and then some as he transported an illegal gun across state lines to NY and back home to NJ and the dummy shoots himself in the thigh as he is taking a loaded illegal gun out of his pocket that he had no business having in a crowded club. The security guys at the club should get diciplined as they knowingly let him in the club.
They used him as an example to show they mean business with illegal guns.

Also one more thing. The NFL will provide security for players when they go out if they ask for it. All he had to do was ask for it.

From my understanding it was his gun legally and he did have a LTCF in Florida, which means nothing in NY.

As we all know only criminals and cops can posses firearms in the city.

I own quite a few guns that aren't registered. They're not illegal guns.
