Thumbs up STATE GAMELANDS NO. 43 pistol portion back open!

Not sure if anyone frequents the free range at French Creek State Park, but the 25 yard pistol range is closed, for the sencond time in two years the target backer has been totally destroyed

That's too bad. I like going there once in a while. There is usually a higher percentage of yahoo's there than most places I shoot. I guess that's why the target backers get destroyed.

As someone who grew up right next to French Creek, i am not surprised. The amount of Philadelphia Sububanites that have moved into the area in the last few years is quite sad. It makes me appreciate central PA even more...

I have shot their a couple of times and had no problems but I usually go at 9am during the week,do you know if they are going to fix the pistol range, or are they looking for volunteers to help with the range? I know in the past they closed ranges and had help from volunteers to fix up the target backers.

I don't know, I don't shoot there very much any more, when I saw the pistol range was closed I pulled a U-turn and took off, I didn't have any long guns this trip and the range was packed.
