Angry Gonzaga Students Face Possible Expulsion After Pulling Gun On Home Intruder

It just gets more insane? No one was hurt, they save themselves and now they may get expelled?

    http://www.khq.com/story/23919881/go...-home-intruder

SPOKANE, Wash. - Two Gonzaga students are facing possible expulsion from the University after they pulled a weapon in self defense as a six time felon attempted to get into their on campus apartment. According to the student handbook, students may not possess handguns on campus or university owned property.

I attended University years ago. School rules stated that I could be expelled immediately with total forfeiture of tuition for that semester. I possessed a concealed carry permit but it was judged irrelevant by the School Authorities.

The moral of the story? Do not NOT live on campus.

    From http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/11/10...cmp=latestnews

"McIntosh has a concealed weapons permit for the pistol. However, Gonzaga students may not possess handguns on campus or university-owned property, according to the student handbook. In a statement to KAYU-TV, a university spokesman said the policy was longstanding and had been put in place to reduce the number of threats to the campus."

Maybe they should have urinated on the BG instead of pulling a handgun.

I plan on sending them pictures of dead bodies of young people and of alive and smiling and ask which picture looks better to them. How will they like to answer to the parents of the ones shot because of their policy. LIBERALS at their best, become a victim is better than protecting yourself. Hey ladies just lay down and let yourselves be raped, beat and become a stat for the FBI. Who cares about your mental and physical state you have Obumacare. DUMBASSES.

In other words, "Students are not responsible human beings" and more importantly, "We do not trust the vetting process for concealed carry permit holders. We do not think that people undergoing background checks, perhaps training, is sufficiently rigorous".

However they will trust Campus Police to carry handguns, police accouterments and go where ever they please?

Police shoot more people than concealed carry permit holders (Police have a duty to respond... concealed carry holders at best can stand their ground). Why aren't these people demanding that their Campus Police go around without handguns? Wouldn't disarming their Campus Police also "reduce the threats"?

Do these people subject their own policy decisions to the same Logical Rigor that they demand of (some) of their students?

Apologies.... of course these "Administrators" do not apply due rigor. The Policy only has to "feel right" to be consistent and proper, yes?

Those who can do. Those who cannot do teach. Those who cannot do either go into Administration. Cruel and inaccurate but it has a shade of truth, does it not?

They won't need degrees. The moment they are expelled, turn around and SUE the university for failing to provide sufficient security, negligence, mental distress, and any number of other deficiencies.

    Story is changing already.

Fagan, 21, and McIntosh, 23, rent their two-bedroom off-campus apartment, No. 5, from owner Gonzaga University. Complications arose after the men called both the Spokane Police and CAMPO to report the trespasser, in doing so declaring the pistol to SPD Officer Adam Valdez. SPD quickly apprehended the suspect, who was arrested on outstanding felony warrants. Valdez congratulated the students for safely warding off a possibly dangerous menace.
SOURCE: http://www.gonzagabulletin.com/news/...a4bcf6878.html (original release I found, posted 11/7/13 while article linked at top of this thread was posted on 11/8/13 and updated on 11/9/13)

Now the story is that they were in an on-campus apartment? When the original story was that they were in an off-campus apartment owned by the school?

Something doesn't smell right here. I also see that this was left out of the new story:

After talking to Valdez with a CAMPO officer present, the roommates said they had a few beers and went to bed. At approximately 2 a.m., two CAMPO officers and RD Justin Muzzi gained entry to the apartment after repeatedly knocking on the door, according to the CAMPO case report. They spotted Fagan’s shotgun propped up against the front door and confiscated it. Walking up the stairs, they opened McIntosh’s door and he fell out of bed. He indicated where his pistol was, and they attempted to remove it from its plastic holder.
So the school forced entry into the apartment at 2 AM and confiscated legally owned firearms...
