I finally got my first gun!!!

After what seemed like an eternity I am now the proud owner of a Bersa Thunder 380. I bought it new at the York gun show yesterday along with cleaning supplies, 150 rounds of ammo, spare mag, snap caps, and a inside the pants holster.

I know it's not very fancy but it seemed like a good first gun. From the reviews I've read it seems like a solid gun with good safety features. And for $220 it fits my budget as well.

I haven’t fired it yet as I want to make sure I know the gun inside and out. Just holding it brings back the safety training I had when I was younger as well as making me realize the practice and training I need before carrying it with me.

Thanks everyone for all the advice I've received here and I'm sure I will continue to get.

I have a Bersa Thunder .380 and love it. We have put some 500-700 rounds through it and never a problem. My wife originally purchased it for her self. I have some what claimed it as my own because it si so much fun to shoot. I am tempted to make it my carry firearm.
I think you will be very happy with your purchase.

Bersa Thunder .380 is the first gun I ever shot, I still need to buy one of those one day.

Ah, I remember my first...gun that is.

Taurus PT-92 9mm. Solid shooting gun. I wish I still had it. It was too big to carry. Just a few days ago I picked up my newest...a Fabrique National Herstal FNP-9M compact 9mm. I can't wait for the nice weather to get it out to the range and see how it shoots.

Congrats on your first purchase. One piece of advice...be VERY careful. Guns can be addicting!!!

hmmm... my second gun will probably be a shotgun, because it's a better home defense gun than a handgun. Plus shooting clay birds is so much fun

Or maybe a 22 rifle with a scope, I love shooting targets at long range, plus it would probably fit my budget. If I come into some $ I could myself with a Glock and multiple assault rifes... my dreaming is endless.
