Sounds good. I like stag stuff. I hear alot of good things about their guns and parts. But it sounds like you are building another one of those frankin guns. I would go with a complete Stag lower unless you aren't concerned about the money. JMO....

A frankin gun is pretty much what you would be doing if you were building a completely custom gun. Using mixd and matched parts from different manufacturers with different tolerances and sometimes it can be known to create the occasional problem. Like I said, try a stag lower with stag internals. The stock and such isn't an issue, but the moving components and parts you should try to match up. Like I said different manufacturers have different tolerances, it can and most likely will cause problems.

Well you could go with stag or DPMS. Both are good companies. I just wouldn't mix and match the parts like you were planning on. Good luck with it.

    frankEN-gun, from Frankenstein

no probblem mixing DPMS lower kit with Stag arms lowers, Stag doesn't make the lower kit in thier rifles!

    my frankengun tack driver has:

    DPMS forged lower
Colt 1/7 Hbar barrel and bolt (from an old Sporter II)
    Bushmaster bolt carrier
    Bushmaster lower internals
Unknown maker teflon finished flattop upper
    unknown maker free float tube
    Magpul PRS buttstock
    bushmaster spring and colt buffer
    hogue grip
    Harris bipod
    1st Samco Bipod adapter
YHM folding front sight gas block
    unknown gas tube

works perfect, shoots about 1.25" with wolf 62gr, and under 1" with Black Hills 77gr.

get quality parts, mix and match does not matter that much, as long as you stick with quality parts.

Hey....here's a question.....say I buy the stag lower, have it shipped and all that...

then come up with the cash later for a lower parts kit

Can I ship the lower to someone to have it put together, or would they need to have an FFL?

I'd probably just drive there anyway, but just a Q

Nothing but the actual stripped lower needs a FFL.
