PA teen arrested, charged after leaving bullets in HS bathroom
Emmaus, PA teen charged with "defiant trespass" and disorderly conduct after bullets were discovered in a bathroom and school was placed on lock-down. Not sure how it went down and how he was fingered for it. I wonder, does the student handbook expressly prohibit bringing bullets to school? These seem like general, catch-all charges. Maybe he had plans to go to a range after school. I think a good lawyer could make this go away.

Re: PA teen arrested, charged after leaving bullets in HS bathroom
What's "defiant trespass" exactly mean? He's from Allentown so is he part of the Emmaus student body or from Allentown and not belong in Emmaus High? Actually now that I'm typing I do recall that there are some addresses here that are served by the Allentown post office even though they're not within the Allentown city limits so perhaps that's what they mean by "from Allentown".

This is right up the street from me. The school was locked down for an entire afternoon and cops were flying around.

The student handbook doesn't have to expressly prohibit the ammo. If he did the act to cause an evacuation he can be charged with a number of possible offenses. He's getting off pretty lucky if all he is charged with is disorderly conduct and defiant trespass. He could have been charged with risking a catastrophe, terroristic threats, etc...
It sounds to me like his biggest failure was his mouth. Like most teens he probably told someone who turned him in. It isn't a coincidence that it took 2 months for the charges. Most cops will tell you, when it comes to teens you just have to be patient because they like to run their mouths.

Yes. Over-reacting "adults" certainly can ramp it up to a catastrophe.
