How committed are you in the upcoming election?
Now that Bernie has endorsed Hillary and we've seen the Democrats official platform for gun control, I am wondering what level of commitment people have to keep Hillary out of the Whitehouse. I don't want Hillary anywhere near the Whitehouse and am trying to decide my level of commitment to keep her out. Normally I vote, donate money and also donate time and money to candidates I support as well as helping out on election day at the polls and driving people to vote when needed. As for many here respect for the Bill of Rights particularly the 2nd is big on my list of considerations for a candidate.
I'm not sure my level will be for Trump yet. I will vote for him. But the rest I'm not sure about yet. It's easier for me to throw my support behind candidates who I support vs. just voting against the other person which is where I find myself right now. (Though I do find myself coming around to "it's good to show a Republican leadership who has taken its base for granted a lesson" viewpoint)
As it stands, Hilary has straight up said she wants to take on the NRA. She would love to neuter them and their influence on the 2nd. Like them or hate them the NRA is our best defense currently to preserve the NRA. Chelsea Clinton has pointed out that her mom can make a big difference on the future of gun control by appointing the right Supreme Court candidates. Basically neutering the 2nd from a judicial Standpoint.
Trump has said the right things about the 2nd. Could he change his mind, the possibility absolutely exists, but there is no doubt that his current stance blows Hillary away with respect to the 2nd, and I believe that his respect for the 2nd far surpasses Hillary. I'm taking him at his word for now and am definitely taking Hillary at her word.
Im wondering what everyone elses commitment level is at. How dedicated are you to keeping Hillary out of the Whitehouse. Is it enough to just complain on a board of mostly similar minded thinkers or will you be doing more to keep her out. Will you vote for Trump to keep her out? Will you fight for him on social media? Will you donate to his campaign? Will you donate time going door to door or making phone calls? Will you help out election day? Or do you have others ways to help out?

Never Hillary, nevery Trump. I'm not lifting a finger for either but will let everyone know why they both suck
I'm going to bitch about how much America sucks and we are losing our 2nd Amendment rights, but never vote anyway and won't start now.
I will grudgingly vote for Trump and hope for the best, but that's it.

I fully support Trump, will vote for him and will do more to get him elected. (Please elaborate in post)Last edited by internet troll; July 12th, 2016 at 02:20 PM.

Re: How committed are you in the upcoming election?
Are you willing to do more? I agree votes matter, but we can do things to help get more votes for him. Talking with neighbors, encouraging like minded people to get out and vote. Driving people to the polls if need be. Locking the doors of Hillary supporters so that they can't get out on election day

^^^ Ding, ding, ding. Bulls eye.
I really don't see what any other option is. The final nail in the coffin with clinton (after 8 years of bho) or some possible hope in Trump. If you're not already a die hard dem and therefore voting dem (hillary) no matter what then I just can't wrap my head around what anyone thinks they're gaining/winning in not voting at all or voting 3rd party cause it makes them feel like they're making a statement by doing so

Re: How committed are you in the upcoming election?
But the question remains, you don't want Hillary, are you willing to do more than just vote to keep her out? Will you donate money or time to help? The more times I ask others these questions the more I am realizing that I need to bite the bullet and step up even if I'm not fully sold on Trump. If I vote for Trump, that is a 2 vote swing in his favor. If I donate, it will be a small contribution towards a Trey Gowdy inspired ad from the Comey hearings that may influence some. Having done door to door I have come across tons of people over the years who weren't planning to vote, not sure when elections are, etc..... that I see at the polls election day. Every Trump supporter you get out to vot or drive to the polls is a swing in Trumps favor.
Edit, I see you answered while I was typing my response..... to you I say good man for stepping up.

Re: How committed are you in the upcoming election?
Fair question. I'll gladly explain to anyone and everyone why Hillary (and Bernie) can't be allowed in the White House but I'm not sure I can praise Trump for too much other than not being Hillary. There are a few things I like about him, sure, but it's more about mobilizing the vote to stop her.

Re: How committed are you in the upcoming election?
I've said it here before, I'm discouraged that out of 320,000,000 people these are the only two we can come up with. But lets face it these are the two we have to choose from.
If only half of what Hilldog spews from her mouth becomes policy or law, we are truly fucked for generations to come, the country as we know it is over
Trump on the other hand, yes he has some issues. But if half of what he says happens, we will be much better shape as a country than we have been in decades
Especially if you are a gun owner, any one who claims to be passionate about free firearms ownership and stays home on election day because of their anti-Trump butthurt is an idiot

I may have unanswered questions about The Donald, but all the questions I've had regarding the Clintons have been long answered.

Re: How committed are you in the upcoming election?
Unlike the upcoming vote in November, I didn't vote here. My support for Trump is actually more like my total opposition to Shillary and I will do whatever I can to see her lose. I'm not sold on Trump but I will vote against Shillary, try to convince others why they should vote against her, and whatever else I can to see her lose. I think Trump is a pandering puppet much like Obama was in '08 and '12. However, I think he is vastly less dangerous and by far the lesser of two evils and I won't cut off my nose to spite my face.
Maybe one day before I die I'll actually get a chance to vote for somebody as opposed to against somebody. And before someone screams Gary Johnson, I mean a viable candidate that has a chance to win. Hell, I'd like my wife to be the first lady President, but it isn't going to happen. I'd love to be the first, first man. I could go around to schools and teach them why the Constitution is they greatest beacon of liberty and freedom this planet has ever seen and why the 2nd Amendment is so important."Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it." — Thomas Paine
