You know what out of actually watching all the current canidates running for the presidency speak i have to say that watching him made me feel good. He actually meant what he said and said what he meant. Its great.

Couldn't agree more. I had a huge smile on my face when he said "I have a dream to reinstate the Contstitution."

I'd have to do some more research on his platform. I would assume since several people in here are trumpeting him, that he is clearly and decisively pro 2nd Amendment. That alone is a huge +10. Depending on what the rest of his paltform looks like (ie: immigration reform, taxes, fiscal responsibility), I would vote for him.

My understanding of his stances on those two issues are:

1) Illegal immigration needs to stop, we need to secure the borders, etc. However we also need to reform immigration law.

2) His fiscal responsibility puts most conservatives to shame.

His stance on immigration is a HUGE +1000.

I guess then that he is a propponent of getting rid of pork-barrel spending and tacking riders onto important bills that contain frivilous spending? That's great!

Although I am a registered Republican, I tend to lean more moderate on many issues. However, gun control and illegal immigration are my two hot-button issues. I will have to watch Mr. Paul very closely and perhaps sign up for updates from his website.

in fact, he recently introduced H.R 1096 (Second Amendment Protection Act of 2007) "to restore the 2nd amendment rights of all Americans".

the only policy I don't agree with Mr. Paul on, is returning to the Gold Standard for our money. Immigration, Gun Control, Political reform, all resonate extremely well with me.

Well the gold standard being returned would really increase the value of the dollar. At least it will be a whole lot better than it stands today as it steadly decreases in value.
