Interesting experience at walmart tonight

Was at walmart tonight, stopped by the sporting goods section to check prices on .223. That's when things got interesting. The guy behind the counter actually knew guns and calibers! Yes, really, walmart! He made a few suggestions on buying value packs instead of smaller boxes, and searched every shelf in the case for one. Even suggested checking with cabela's for a decent deal on 7.62x39. I was actually impressed with the walmart service today.

So, walmart guy, if you happen to read this board a big +1 to you.

If you get a moment, consider calling the manager and giving him a real +1. I'm sure he'd be as happy in the Sporting Goods as anywhere else. If they take note and station him there, that could be a big plus for Wal-Mart and the guy.

I didn't make it over to sporting goods...we were in the photo section making prints for a Christmas present project. That place was kinda nuts!

Damn straight !
I manage a store, and any time a customer will take the time out to call me and compliment excellent service it goes a long way. Espec this time of year for a retailer, and especially this close to year end reviews.

I started out as a clerk, and many many cases like this piled up to help me make it into managment.

I too had a similar experience at my local Wal-Mart store. The young girl behind the counter seemed to be very knowledgeable about firearms, ammunition, ear/eye protection, cleaning kits, scopes, etc. She even told me to check out the products/sales at Dick's Sporting Goods and Cabela's.

So, Wal-Mart girl, if you're reading this post. . . I Love You!
