Re: Background check question
Thanks, that makes sense to me. Any chance you would know of any ways to help me get my drivers license back sooner than waiting for a probationary license in a few years since I have around 20 license suspensions and don*t qualify for an occupational license? It*s past the 30 day appeal limit and every lawyer I*ve talked to says I just need to wait, while people get duis and fleeing the police and can get their license back in a year or less.

Re: Background check question
Tried to stay out of this, but I'm even more interested in how someone gets "caught a lot too".
I've been driving since around 1983 and I have been pulled over once - on the turnpike - for exceeding the speed limit. Once.
And I always exceed the speed limit on highways or rural 45+ mph roads.
Once. In my whole (driving) life.
How does a person get pulled over "around 20 times"???
I mean, other than while driving the General Lee?

Re: Background check question
OP,
I am not a lawyer. However, just waiting doesn't seem like a good idea unless you communicate that you are waiting. From the perspective of the state, or charging government arm, you are ignoring them. I am pretty sure that doesn't set well with authoritarians. There are lawyers that specialize in traffic laws and driver licenses, seeking out and hiring one of those lawyers is your best path.Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

Re: Background check question
I bet he became a "known scofflaw" and would be pulled over by cops that recognize the car/driver...
I'm also in the camp that you need to find a better lawyer and likely take care of all the fines. I seriously doubt you will ever get your license back without first paying them.

Re: Background check question
Alright, well I suppose I'll throw my hat in now, since you have summoned the speed demon. I have probably been pulled over close to 20 times. I like speeding. I typically get a speeding ticket annually, at least bi-annually. I've never yet been suspended for it, nor have I ever tried to hide from the consequences of my actions, so I can't comment on that aspect. I do perpetually carry some amount of points against my license. I couldn't tell you why you never get pulled over and I get pulled over a lot. You're free to speculate.
