Default Are these reloaded garand ammo?

I recently got some boxes of garand M2 Ball ammo from the Oaks gun show. The boxes are marked with the CMP logo and 30.06 FMJ Ball. The rounds have "L C 6 6" head stamps. However upon closer examination at home, the rounds all seem to have "blemishes" around the throat area. They're not corrosion but look like "stains". I also wiped each one clean just for good measure and some of the stain got on the rag.

I compared the rounds with my greek surplus, none of the greeks have these stains. They're not very obvious in the pictures though.

    Box it came with:

    1. Are these reloads?

    2. Do you think they're okay to use on the garand?

    Thanks. -victor

The rounds had been previously linked for a 1919 browning machinegun and are the same used in the M1 .

Ah... didn't even think of that. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

Not Reloads........a strech-line would show near the Base! I can't see the Headstamp, I'm guessing,
"LC " which is Lake City (Federal's Military Products).
Is there a Lot Year stamped? Some of the early WWll stuff was corrosive!!

Before you throw-um spin them in very fine Steelwool & wipe clean!

I wiped them all clean. All 100 of them. The headstamp is "LC 66".

Wow CMP is really selling some woppers. Where is the bullet weight? If it was MILSURP where is the M designation to let you know what it is? Garands shoot M1 and M2 ball ammo (with the appropriator sub munitions like AP, Tracer, API, etc).

It was on the box when they got it... how do you know its not a 160+gr bullet that could damage your op-rod?

I mean really... the M desigination is on the box the bullets came out of. Also the lot number.

CMP needs to get their act together.
