    I've decided to take 10 grand out and put it in a safety deposit box. That leaves me with $500.00 to keep the account open.

    Only problem with safe deposit box is your money is inaccessible when the bank is closed or closed down.

    Exactly. I don’t keep anything in a safety deposit box that I would need in a moments notice.

    Thinking about it more, I don’t even know what the hell is in my safety deposit box. Probably original birth certificate, marriage license and some other stuff. Haven’t been in it in probably 10years or more. We keep it as the bank ‘sold out’ of boxes and didn’t want to lose the one we have.
