Thinking about SBR'ing my HK SP5
Just obtained a new HK SP5 and was thinking that it was just gonna be a quick Form 1 and $200 so I could throw an HK A2 stock on it as an SBR, but I guess I was not realizing that it will have to be 922r compliant with US made replacement parts so I am not sure if I actually want to go that route.
6 need to be replaced
1. Receiver
2. Barrel
3. Trunion
4. Bolt
5. Bolt Carrier
6. Cocking Handle
7. Trigger Box
8. Trigger
9. Hammer
10. Sear
11. Buttstock
12. Pistol Grip module
13. Forearm / Handguard
14. Magazine Housing
15. Magazine Follower
16. Magazine Floorplate
Has anyone SBR'd their SP5 and done this? Any suggestions about which US made parts are of comparable HK quality and finish? I am thinking if I swap in a Franklin Armory Binary trigger that would take care of 4 of the 6 parts minimum needed to swap and I would probably go with a US made A2 stock and a US made cocking handle. I have a binary trigger in a Sig MPX, just was not thinking I would need to spend that now but if it is a cleaner route to the SBR then I may as well just go that route.
