Default You Wouldn't Believe What I Saw Today/Your Father Is a Clown

I wanted to squeeze in some range time today. Instead of going to the club like I planned to, I ended up at the SGL range on 74, because I didn't have time to drive to the club (a bit further away).

The place was fairly crowded. This particular SGL range has a rifle range seperated from the pistol range with a very large berm. I brought pistols and a rifle, figuring I'd shoot a bit of both. I walk down to the pistol range and it's packed. I wanted to shoot at 10 yards, with a little .38. No dice, so when I finally get a chance to set a target up I set one at 25 yards and start shooting 9mm. Fine by me. Anyway at the 10 yard station there is a father with 4 kids, 3 boys and a girl. They ranged in age from what I would guess was 6-12. The father was letting them shoot. He would bring them up to the line, then put the gun in their hands and hold his over theirs. This is where it gets ridiculous. He has a .357 shooting .38s and a Glock that appeared to be chambered in .40 S&W. Of course the kids are flinching. He is screaming at the top of his lungs. "Dont look away!! Don't close your eyes!" At one point he had the daughter shooting the Glock and his exact words were "If you look away when you shoot I will be fucking furious." Come on asshole, she's 11. This was infuriating. I can't even relate more of the story. It was just fucking unbelievable. I commented to someone I see there often on my way up to the rifle range "If he was my father I'd never want to shoot again." She agreed.

This has had me fuming all day. I wanted to slap this guy. I just usually don't slap people who have loaded guns. I pray that assclown is on here and reads this. You sir, are a fucker, and a piss poor example to your children.

Ok... I feel a little better now.

That's f---ed up! It's like the assholes who wait to get to WalMart to slap their kids. I hate to see kids being physically OR verbally abused. I never did it & my parents never did it.

I'm just glad I had an adult who was patient and willing to take time to teach me properly.

Couldn't agree more. I usually refrain from commenting on how other people parent their children, but this was just outrageous.

That is just pathetic. He's probably just turned off four children to the whole experience. Aside from the poor choice of firearms for teaching children, and being a complete dick, bringing four kids at one time is just asking for trouble.
