    Default making a purchase ftf

Ok, here is the situation. My buddies mother gave him three guns . 2 of these are pistols . well he doesn't want them so i told him i would buy them from him. The deal was made . now the question. Does his mother have to transfer the guns or since she gave them to him can he just be there ?

The obvious statement is of course to use an FFL for the pistols.

They are his pistols so the mother does not new to be there.

Plenty of people will come here over complicating things an quoting laws and such but they are his and that's that.

Since his mom gave him the handguns he is now the legal owner of the handguns if both him and his mom live in PA. He is the only one that needs to be there to transfer them to you.

Man, I miss Vermont... Here's how a private pistol sale goes in VT:

Buyer: Hey, I heard you have a Ruger LCP you want to sell, I'm interested.

Seller: Well, here it is. I'm asking $250.

Buyer: Hmmm... Could you do $225?

Seller: Yeah, I can do that.

Buyer: Great, thank you! Here is the money.

Seller: And the Ruger is yours... Here, I'll even throw in a box of ammo for free.

Buyer: Wow, thanks! See you later!

Seller: Bye. Enjoy that, and be safe.

    So simple.

Of course, it is always smarter to fill out a bill of sale to cover your ass, just in case... But it's not required.
