Any chance of separating the firearms into rifle/handgun/shotgun subforums? There's a lot of stuff there to wade through when looking for a particular category of guns....great section of the site

1) forum search sucks

2) what if you search "handgun" and the one you would want to see doesnt say "handgun" in the ad ?

example : "G19 for sale"

it used to be if you listed something it took days and days to get off the first page. A week even. Back before the 3 day bump rule. Now we have so many members, so much traffic, that a new add falls off the first page in under a day.

If there are no downsides i am not aware of I dont see why this would be a problem. Other sites I go on split the classifieds down this way and it makes it much more manageable.

Even just seperating into WTB vs WTS might be useful in lowering the volume in each section.

if you look at the bottom of the page you can search by WTS / WTB ect.

Really.....this can EASILY be done using the existing search feature. Shawn does make some valid points about search terms, but filtering by prefix is VERY simple to do now.
