My First Pheasant
I had went out Saturday and walked in the rain for 5 hours. Only saw 3 pheasants, none of which were close enough to get cleanly. Being my first time hunting at all since middle school (Im 26), I was a little discouraged but knew you can't always get something.
I thought that this morning would be better to go out... should be less people, better weather, wildlife moving around more, etc. Well... there were still a good amount of guys out. I decided to trek all the way out towards the middle of the game land.
Standing on a little hill above a corn strip, I saw a pheasant fly in the next strip over. I made my way through one strip to the end, and worked my way back down the next. After about halfway through one runs though my lane into the next. I dart into that lane to see him running down.
Bead up, safety off, pull trigger, boom, dinner..

Re: My First Pheasant
Do I read that correct? Did you shoot the bird as it was running?

Re: My First Pheasant
Ok, so how did you prepare this wonderful bird?? Where was it harvested? I've been doing my share of deer hunting in PA, but have yet to go pheasant hunting, so any info will be much appreciated.

Nice bird, bet it tasted as good as it looks. When you are called a racist, it just means you won an argument with an Obama supporter.
