    Default EMP 1911

Looking at the new Springfield EMP 1911 in the American Rifleman Mag. looks real good, anyone got this gun? Looks like it would be a great Concealment peice.
It doesn't have a price in the book. Scott

EMP's are running right around $1000 in the Lancaster and York areas.

There have been some reported issues with them (feeding) on various gun forums, because of that I passed on getting one.

They did have some bugs with feeding...not sure if they've been worked out.

You're just pushing the platform past it's limits....I had hoped SA would have worked out the kinks with the new specific parts...but I haven't heard this to be true.

I kinds think that they'd have some appeal in a 4" and 5" size if they got them to run like tops.

Just want to throw this out there..

If you don't mind something different, H&K has several P7 Trade-in's on the market, which can be had for the $ 500 - $ 650 range. The P7's are 9mm with an 8+1.. I think a very nice setup.

There are also Sig P6's on the market for under $ 300 , 9mm again 8+1.. Lot less then the EMP price tag..

    Good Luck!

I have one and I love it. It shoots great!! When I first had it I ran into a few serious problems (problems with the sear and feeding). I sent it back to SA and the did more then they needed to fix the it. For CC purposes you will love it. They also have it in .40S&W too
