COMCAST QUESTION

i switched to comcast on 7/23/09 to this date i have received 2 bills totaling 250.00, mind you it hasnt even been one month. i called comcast and asked why i was sent two bills yada yada,,,,, they say they bill one month in advanced, i told them i was unaware of that and its not posted on their site, (lady) we dont have it posted but thats our policy. so i said thank you and hung up. my question is, can they legally do that with out informing the public first? i sure as hell didnt know i was going to be getting two bills in less than a month

Yes they can, because they are a subscription service. They have always billed one month in advance. Fios does it, Dish does it, RCN does it, they all do it! I am disturbed they didn't tell you that though!

If you pay 30 days late every month, you are ok, but do not let it go 45.

Yup, that's what they do. I currently have Comcast, but am switching over to Verizon FIOS next month, and they also require to pay a month in advance.

i was thinking the same thing. the lady told me i would be refunded for one month if i canceled a year from now, i asked her if she could send me a letter to confirm, she said NO. thats when i hung up.

Not that I truly expect you to look for it and read it, but it is on the back of the work order you signed when installed. Along with every other God written in possible smallest font thing they could be regulated to print on there.

Now, if they didn't leave you a copy of the work order, then the Customer Rep needs a training session!

I just got comcast today and had to pay the first month plus installation up front to the installer.

That's 2 months for him.... By the time I get my bill and all the movies and UFC fights I buy in a month, I pay way more than that!!

But I also pay for extra Internet speed.

Well, FIOS is much faster than Comcast. My buddy just switched over, and ran speed tests, and he was hitting download speeds of 90+ Mbps. Plus Verizon is running a pretty good deal for the internet/phone/TV package, so I decided to make the switch.
