Need help - interstate transfer from relative
I have a bit of a dilemma:
My uncle wants to give my brother and me two of his guns. I believe one is a rifle and the other, a pistol. He is currently bedridden with cancer in a hospital in North Carolina, but he is a resident of Texas. Being bedridden, he would not be able to go to a FFL.
My questions are:
1. Since he can't physically go to a FFL, will a "bill of sale" suffice for the FFL to make the transfer without my uncle being physically present?
2. If the bill of sale idea won't work, is there any way to work around my uncle's inability to be present at the FFL?
3. Lastly, will his Texas residency complicate a transfer made in North Carolina?"Always have a reason for living, and stand ready to die for it."
