Night sites for a Glock 27...
What is a good set? Are they easy to install or will I need to get a gunship to install them?
Thanks,
-Mike

Re: Night sites for a Glock 27...
It's whatever you want. I just bought some Ameriglos and love em but others love Warren, Heine, Tritium, it all depends.
As for installing them its not that hard. You need a vice and like a punch, you simply knock out the old ones from the side. Then you file down the new sites until it fits about 3/5 of the way into the slot and then just knock it in with the punch. Personally i'll use a rubber mallet next time but im learning.Reputation is what I strive for.

Re: Night sites for a Glock 27...
I have a set on my G27. I can't recall the vendor 100% but the rear has a small allen screw thru the top that locks it in place and the front is held in place with a small bolt from inside the slide. It seems to be pretty straight forward but I would be worried that if one of the tridium vials were to get damaged during install that there would be no warranty on them. I'd suggest making the front post a different color than the rear. I know if I do it again I would have gone that route. They do make different height sights to enable you to get a "zero" of sorts so you might want to ask a shop about that.

I personally like the trijicons, and stick with the all green, they last twice as long. Installation, let your gunsmith do it,only ten to twenty bucks, unless you have a press.

Re: Night sites for a Glock 27...
Send it to Glock and they will do it for less than $100, plus go over the whole gun. Detail strip, replace springs and other parts for free. I had less than $100 in it. That's including shipping and insurance one way. 2 weeks turn around.
Gunships don't install sights.

I just got a G19 with Truglo TFO night sights installed. They work great. Haven't actually gotten a chance to shoot it yet but I've tested them in a pitch black room and they glow great. Even glow during the day.

Heres a link to what I puton my model 27. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/85078-1.html
I did it myself with a poor mans vise (wood and nails) and pushed it with a C clamp. Easier than I would of imagined. Why gun shops dont offer installation for free if you buy the sights from them is beyond me. I went with contrasting sights on this one. All my other guns have all green. I recommend all green as it glows twice as bright as the yellow or orange.

Hello - I put a set of Ashley Big Dot night sights on my glock 19 - The set came with everything you needed ( tool, locktite etc ) and the instructions were easy to follow. I like the big glowing front dot , it's fast to find
