    Talking Christmas Commander

My first 1911 arrived a few days before Christmas.
    Colt XSE Light Weight Commander.

It took me less than 12 hours to install the idiot scratch.
Lesson learned, and that won't happen again.
Put about 200 rnds. thru it, so far so good.

I love those grips! They contrast well with the finish. But don't listen to me, my girlfriend still doesn't allow me to pick out my own clothes for the day! Great present man!

I love that gun. I need to get a .45 and I think it's either that or the Kimber.

Ok I must have missed something. What is the idiot scratch on a 1911?
GreenBlood10 you are lucky I had a boss that constantly sung praises of how great his wife was for picking out his clothes everyday. He would really rip on a guy who came in with the same clothes from the previous day or mis-matched socks.
I always stressed to my son"one shot one kill that was all that is needed". When He came home from Marine Corp Boot camp He was telling me about the Marines stressing "ONE SHOT ONE KILL" He looks at me and the light bulb went on Dad was now a whole lot smarter than he was 13 weeks ago.

The scratch gives it personality, kind of like marking your property. Very nice pistol...

look below the slide stop at the curved scratch on the frame.
It is from scratching the frame with the slide stop upon reasembly.

    nice gun !
Ive been looking at smaller 1911's..........
