    Dick's Sporting Goods for $239. Wally world could have ordered one for me at $215 but I was too antsy to wait any longer.

    I mounted a Tasco red dot that I've had for a while.

    Yup. It's got the synthetic stock and stainless steel barrel. This is the one::http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/FAProd...=1140&return=Y

    Well... I haven't even fired it yet and I'm already looking to modify it.

    I ordered these 2 parts::

    Volquartsen Ruger 10/22 Extended Magazine Release
    Volquartsen Ruger 10/22 Auto Bolt Release

    I know that having to push a separate release for the bolt was going to annoy me. I also thought that being able to remove an extended magazine with one hand would be a plus too.

    Any comments on the parts I selected?

    i have the same rifle. i did nothing to it. i tried a bullpup stock on it with a flash hider. it looked cool. thats about it.

    i have a steel version. i replaced the mag release, then i put in a spring kit, then a titanium fireing pin, bolt buffer.
    then i put a clark bull barrel and a houge stock. bushnel scope 4-12 power. why 4-12? why not?
    then i put a new scope mount on this one attaches in the regular holes and into the bull barrel. i actualy needed to talk a local smith into drilling and tapping the barrel. he just couldn't get it into his head as to why i would want to do such a thing.

    i am sure i missed on some of the other stuff i put into my 10/22 rebuild. shoots great.

    the next rebuild i am thinking of using a carbon fibre barrel.

    good luck with yours.

    If you want some custom work, you can try Randy at CPC...he's a sponsor on rimfirecentral. I had him do some work for me last year. His prices are reasonable, but I'm not sure I'd use him if I were to buy another 10/22. I'd replace the barrel with a heavy barrel, but that's my preference. I'd also have the trigger worked on or replace the sear and hammer.

    Perhaps thread the barrel for a suppressor???
