Glock 21SF new trigger spring
Well today I removed the 8lb NY1 trigger from my Glock 21SF and replaced it with a 5lb trigger spring. Dry firing is much better than before. It actually feels something like a trigger now. Still not real crisp but it's good for now, one change at a time.
Going to do some live fire tests tomorrow. Yes just to be on the safe side, I'll start with just one round in the magazine. Kept the standard 5lb connector in there.
Hey and I actually got the number right this time, didn't call it a 22SF.Last edited by DaveM55; December 30th, 2007 at 05:19 PM.

Re: Glock 21SF new trigger spring
The newer G21 and G21SF will have a little heavier trigger pull than the older guns. The updated Glock trigger bar for the G21 pulls the striker to the rear farther before breaking. The new bar also pushes up higher on the striker safety.
It took me a while to get used to this after running the older G21 for years. I like the new bar as it helps take away light primer strikes and misfires, but to me it needs the 3.5# connector and a quick introduction to Mr. Flitz metal polish.
Enoy your G21SF.

Re: Glock 21SF new trigger spring
have you thought about exchanging it for an older style pull?

Re: Glock 21SF new trigger spring
Just got back from the range and man what a difference!!! I was much more accurate and my follow-up shots were better too. Put about 100 rounds through it.
Finally got around to adjusting the sights on my Ruger Security Six. Now it hits where I'm aiming.
It was a great day, much better than going to work.
Happy New Year!!!Last edited by DaveM55; December 31st, 2007 at 03:54 PM.

Re: Glock 21SF new trigger spring
Dave,
Is this your carry piece? I've heard/read a few stories of Glocks malfunctioning with aftermarket additions. I have a G17 that I put a 3.5lb trigger connector in, it's only a range gun so I wasn't concerned, but so far no issues, I keep my carry Glock factory.

Re: Glock 21SF new trigger spring
The Glock 21SF comes with the 8lb NY1 trigger as purchased through the individual LE/military discount program. You also get three magazines!
The Glock 21SF can also be bought with a standard 5.5lb trigger.
The connector is the standard 5lb, I didn't change that.
So the change is not after market.Last edited by DaveM55; March 29th, 2013 at 02:43 PM.

Re: Glock 21SF new trigger spring
Glock also makes a 3.5# connector from the factory. This connector lightens the trigger pull by about 2 lbs. It has ZERO effect on malfs because the striker spring is not changed.
While it could be true that aftermarket add-ons might cause problems, trigger connectors are reliable. It's up to the shooter.
