Civilians involved it Shoots,Statistics !
My curiosity got the better of me,this question is open to all in the tri-state areas. What are the statistics of civilians who actually pulled and fired their weapon in self defense, whether or not the shooting resulted in a fatality ?

Everyone subject to civil law is a civilian. Henceforth, all law enforcement, security personnel, gas station attendants, SEPTA bus drivers and road ragers are considered "civilians."
As for justified shoots, good luck finding that. I suspect that weapons are pulled or shown an exponentially greater amount then the actual shootings. Then it must also be factored that the majority of gunshot wounds are survivable. Furthermore, just being indicted does not mean it was not a clean shoot.
Without about 75 graduate students, a reasonable budget and access to real crime data (are all reports accurate) this kind of information is not easily assembled. In short, statistics do not really exist for what you are looking for.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

It's estimated about 2.5 million crimes are deterred each year by gun owners.
I would say a nearly infinitesimal minority ever have to pull the trigger, around 3,000-4,000 a year, but I think thats the number of actual kills.
I can't say how many pull the trigger and it doesn't end in fatalities, probably quite a bit more.
