Glock Problems
I was at the range today with a very good friend and he has a G27 and i have been heavily considering selling my Springfield XD subcompact 40 and getting a G27. But this G27 had about 50 rounds thru it when we started the day, needless to say it didnt make 100 rounds since new. The recoil spring broke. These guns from what i have been told do that more often then not. I was going to buy this as a backup gun on duty and now its making me really think hard about it. With my life on the line the last thing i want to worry about is if the gun will work.
Has anyone else had a problem like this?
Its scary to think about.

Re: Glock Problems
It definately does not happen more often than not. I can't diagnose what the issue was but I would guess the guide rod was installed incorrectly if this happened on a newer pistol. I have yet to break a guide rod or recoil spring in any of the Glocks I've owned or shot and that's more than a few and I've only witnessed a couple guide rods break in 20 years of shooting them. Funny thing is, they still fuctioned.

Re: Glock Problems
I have put about 800 rd through my G26 without one problem. Don't know if the 40 puts more stress on the gun then 9mm. I know a few people with the 27 and they never had any problems with there's.
If the gun is that new give Glock a call

Re: Glock Problems
I'm a big Glock fan so this post interested me. I started up the Google and found this is a pretty common complaint with the Glock 27. People were recommending changing the stock recoil spring assembly out with one from Wolf. I've never had a failure of any kind with my Glock, but it's not a Glock 27 either.

Re: Glock Problems
Very interesting, my friend already has another guide rod for his glock, the dealer he bought it from took the guide rod and recoil spring off of one in stock.
Great customer service there.
I will have to inform him of the suggested wolf guide rod.

Re: Glock Problems
I have about 500 rounds thru my G27 with no issues. I use this as my ccw on a daily basis and have no doubts that it will perform if needed.
