    Default Blue Marsh lake - no guns?

    So, I was at the outlook at the State Hill boat ramp at blue marsh today, and I took a moment to read their rules and regulations. These are posted by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The rules state that loaded firearms are prohibited unless written permission has been granted by the director. Any legal weight to this?

    Lots of legal weight. That's Federal land. Don't even think of it.

    Wow...good question.

    So the ANF (dept of Ag) its okay to carry.

    But NP & monuments (Nat Park Service) we are in the process of getting regs changed to allow carry,

    BUT
    for Blue Marsh Lake (Army corp of Engineers) we are still under their regs as follows:
    36 CFR Ch. III (7–1–99 Edition)

    § 327.13 Explosives, firearms, other
    weapons and fireworks.
    The possession of loaded firearms,
    ammunition, loaded projectile firing
    devices, bows and arrows, crossbows,
    explosives or explosive devices of any
    kind, including fireworks, is prohibited
    unless:
    (a) In the possession of a Federal,
    state or local law enforcement officer;
    (b) Being used for hunting or fishing
    as permitted under § 327.8, with devices
    being unloaded when transported to,
    from or between hunting and fishing
    sites;
    (c) Being used at authorized shooting
    ranges; or
    (d) Written permission has been

    Seems we have more work to do...will this never end?

    This simple, it says for fishing they may be loaded. So when you get into you boat throw a few poles in and load up enjoy your day unload before you get out of the boat and all should be well. It is what the law says. Fish the coves the bass tend to get aggressive there should be good fishing with the water temps slowly coming down and all.

    Considering the "urban" crowd that frequents there on weekends, you would be foolish to NOT carry.....................

    I know of someone who was arrested for having a loaded firearm in his vehicle at the swimming area so i would tread lightly. He was arrested by the Army Corps of engineers and they did follow through with prosecution.

    No shit? I was looking for a good bit to find out if there were any regs on Blue Marsh. Couldnt findany easily, so I figured it was good to go. Have OCed there before, though not in the main areas. Guess I lucked out no one saw.

    Written permission = 2nd Amendment. I love that.
