Default Time stamp on posts in thread.......

    Arrrrrghhh!

I'm never one to resist change....but this is one I'm having a TOUGH time getting used to. And I can't. I don't like it.

It used to be when we'd visit a thread, we could click the "Go to first unread" and then read/backtrack up. I liked the way the timestamp USED to be (12 minutes ago, 22 minutes ago, 45, minutes ago, 2 hours ago, 2 days ago, etc....)

When I check in during my hectic at-work schedule, I know instantly who has posted since my last look cuz I know about how long ago I checked in.

Now, all posts are EXACTLY time stamped and (maybe I'm just lazy?) it's not as easy to go backwards to see.

    Petty complaint? Prolly.
But it's my complaint and I stand by it!

I like the old "...ago" timestamp method!

I guess its something thats going to take some getting used to. My problem is that most days I don't know what date it is.

It would be nice if you could set which one you prefer in your user cp.

I just switched this back to the relative date format (1 day ago, 2 hours ago, etc)

I prefer it this way. The other way is too hard to read casually.

I prefer it the more technical way. Gives a better indication of the exact time something was posted rather than "1 hour ago". Was it one hour and one minute or one hour and 59 minutes? You don't know....

This is true, but I would imagine the times where that really matters are minor compared to the times where people (including myself) don't want to have to check the date and time and do the math to figure out how long ago it was.
