Flight 93 Memorial trip & Dinner
I posted some pics of when I recently stopped by the Flight 93 Memorial:

Here is a link to the park website: http://www.nps.gov/flni/index.htm
That was my first trip and I'm seeing that some others haven't been there yet either. I wanted to see if there was any interest in a group visit to the Flight 93 Memorial and then have dinner somewhere in Somerset.
If you are interested, post here. It would be a great get together and a chance to meet other POOFA members. We will need someone from Somerset to scope a place to eat afterwards.
It will have to be in August since the lease for the land the current temporary memorial is on expires in September of this year. That is why the temporary memorial is being built across the street. It will be like a last chance to go to the "original temporary memorial". Saturdays should be best for most people so it looks like it would have to be August 16th, 23rd or 30th.
I'll drive and I can carry 3-4 others to save them on gas. Any suggestions on where to eat would be appreciated. Just not the McD's right at the turnpike entrance.
Right now I am looking at 08/16/08. So how about it?

i'd def. be interested in this, I can hold up to 7(5 is the limit if you want to not be shoulder to shoulder in the back). If it ends up just being a few of us PMSC folk we can all meet there and hop in my land yacht.

Color me and the girl in. Just a hop, skip and a jump for us. Also, as a suggestion for dinner, while it is not in Somerset, Torillo's steak house in Jennerstown would be an option.

Somerset has some resturants in the area. Hoss's is just up the road from the Turnpike. The American Revolution would never have happened with gun control....

I have been on a few poker runs that stoped there. Depending when I might be up for a road trip. The wife and I would most likely take the bike.

Re: Flight 93 Memorial trip & Dinner
PER THE WRATH OF MY WIFE I HAD TO CHANGE THE DATE TO 08/16/08.
When we gat closer and get somewhat of a head count I will contact the park service and let schedule our visit as their website groups give them a heads-up. Also maybe they can be sure to have a ranger on site to review the story of that day. It was still very powerful to listen to last Friday.Last edited by GRoPA; July 28th, 2008 at 09:37 PM.
