    Default PA Farm Show?

    Does anyone here go?

I've been tossing around the idea of going this year. I've never been to one and it seems interesting. What are some of the things to expect? Do they have animals for sale? For example, can I buy an animal and then have it butchered for me? Do they sell fresh eggs etc?

What day is best to go?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, You can buy animals live but you deal with the butchering aspect as well as transport. Livestock is pricy, your buying prize animals. Not much in the way of retail other than crafts and baked goods. Being that the show is FREE expect every welfare recipient in the Harrisburg are to be there and loads upon loads of bussed school children. I raise stock and the smell of body odor in the complex overpowers any smell the livestock puts out. The fact that it is free and allows all of the riff raff to run wild and act ignorrant is enough of a turn off that I will not go back. Used to go every year, but lately it's been bad. If they gave away bags of dog shit people would stab one another to get to it.

Wow, they give away free bags of dog shit? I'll bring my knife.

I went to the farm show when I was in school, maybe middle school. I remember having a good time. The complex is really neat, I used to compete in observed bicycle trials, and they had an event called Motorama there. It's worth taking a trip out there if you've got the time, I think.
