New pistol

I have had a ruger mark III .22 for awhile now but never really used it much. I have recently gotten the urge to exercise my rights and got my CCW permit and began looking at pistols. I have never been a gun collector, I have my hunting rifles but only have what I "need". Well I can see myself becoming a glutten when it comes to pistols. I want one of each.

Anyway, I recently picked up a Springfield XD9 and love it. I am now in the process of learning how to hit something with it. Next I want a revolver to carry camping and a 1911, and....

Just wanted to say thanks, I learned a lot from this site before getting my gun and look forward to learning lots more. If anyone lives near Danville and would be willing to give a new guy some tips let me know.

XD is my favorite of the plastic-hybrid pistols since, for me, they are the most accurate and they will run lead. Also, they are rugged and well made.

Spend some time with your Ruger. IMO, they are great trainers and at worst, provide inexpensive trigger time. When I go to the range, my MkIII 22/45 always comes out first. 50rds minimum; makes for a great warm-up. If I'm not gettin' it done with the Ruger, the big guys stay in the bag.

i had a recent oppertunity to play with bitone XD service in 9mm that belongs to Mtbkski, and i must say it was really nice gun. I perfer smaller grip of my M&P, but my GF sure liked it. Infact, since we both have day off tomorrow, we are going to look at XD compact in either 9mm or 357Sig tomorrow.
