Re: ARMORER QUESTION
No, you won't get the tools free. Check Midway or Brownells, they have all the tools you need for AR maintenance at good prices. You may even be able to find them locally at a firearms or surplus store. Both of these items can be done easily, I don't see a need to take them to a shop unless you don't want to buy the tools (or if you know the shop owner he may let you use his tools).

Re: ARMORER QUESTION
the pistol grip shoud just be a screw...
now for the buttstock.....lol
if you have an M4 stock just take the lever that adjusts the stock lenght and PULL it down and keep it down and the stock should just come right off..no tools
give it a shot and let me know if it works. It did on my RRA

Keep in mind if you are changing the 6 position AR stock to something like the Magpul CTR stock that you know if your tube is mil spec or commercial. Magpul makes both mil spec and commercial CTR stocks, so knowing which one you own will save you money in the long run.

Re: ARMORER QUESTION
knew I forgot something......damn old age :P
take a look at this and it should help in determining your buffer tube dimensions:
Found this in a thread at ARFCOM:
Mil-Spec buffer tube = 1.150" OD
Commercial buffer tube = 1.170" OD
http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.htm...=301842&page=1
these dimensions are for the collapsable stock NOT the fixed stock....Last edited by gold cup abuser; September 21st, 2007 at 06:18 PM.
