Anyone shoot Remington's managed recoil loads?
So, here's the situation. I've got a Savage 110 in 7mm Rem Mag that I used to use as a deer rifle (100 yards and less), but am now looking to use out to to 200-300 yards in open fields for target and varmint shooting. I'm currently using 140 grain Federal Fusion ammo and a Limbsaver pad, but the gun still kicks more than I'd like. So, I was wondering if I could use Managed Recoil loads for my purpose (without insane amounts of bullet drop at 300 yds). More specifically, 1) has anyone shot these loads? 2) how does recoil compare to standard loads? 3) how accurate are they? and 4) since they are loaded on the light side, will have have excessive drop at 300 yards? Thanks in advance to all answers.

Re: Anyone shoot Remington's managed recoil loads?
a different caliber than yours, but our experience was very good...
here's the deal with our use; I took dad's Remington 760 in .30-06 and had the plastic buttplate replaced with a fitted Limbsaver recoil pad (older design) and switched his load from Remington CoreLokt 150gr psp's to their CoreLokt 125gr managed recoil psp's and it has less kick than shooting a Marlin 336 using normal .30-30 loads...a very significant reduction in recoil & we were pleasantly suprised to find out the rifle grouped the managed recoil 125gr load better than the normal 150gr load; IIRC...Remington markets their Managed Recoil loads for use out to 200 yards (stating something about having enough energy out to 200 yards for a humane kill on game animals)

Thanks for the info! I'll take your experience as a good sign, since I know my dad's 30-06 Rem 7600 (still w/plastic butt plate) packs a hefty recoil. Just wanted to be sure before I dropped the money on a box of them.
