Default Airport Police Commander pulls gun on family at the range.

This is pretty bizarre. Apparently the Commander of the Orlando-Sanford Airport Police pulled a gun on a father, his son and son's girlfriend at a shooting range. He later claims that he was investigating a trespass.

My question is what is an Airport cop doing investigating trespass at a shooting range?

In the charging affidavit, Jerry Autry said he was shooting pistols there with his son and son's girlfriend when Dale jumped out of his truck, pointed a handgun at them and ordered the trio to drop their weapons and put their hands up while he patted them down.

Autry said Dale told him they weren't allowed to use handguns at the club. Dale then reportedly asked if they wanted to shoot skeet with his group.

This assclown has a serious case of the Delta Alpha. I would wager that something like this gets him some quiet time at a nice hospital with young men wearing clean white suits. At the very least it should.

Did he not know it was a shooting range? Or did he just think shooting ranges were for sighting in water rifles only?

This story is bizarre. I don't really know what to make of it. The cop is lucky he didn't get shot. I'm glad I wasn't involved in that situation. Strange man draws a gun on me and my loved ones without identifying himself as an officer of the law very well may have gotten deadly force reciprocated.(particularly because you'd have to be very obviously out of your mind to draw down on armed, law abiding people at a shooting range who are simply legally minding their own business)

I'm glad that everyone made it out safe, and that this lunatic will hopefully end up behind bars. Not too convinced that any charges will be filed though.
