Default OC-Do you LOOK like a LEO?

A couple of weeks ago, when I was as giddy as a schoolgirl to discover the open carry movement my fiancee opined "Maybe they don't get hassled because people think they are cops."

Then a post in this thread
    http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...s-page-16.html

got me thinking about it again. Now I'm about 5'11", ~300 lbs, long hair, usually an ushaved look. No one is ever going to mistake me for a LEO. How about the rest of you?

I look about as far away from an LEO as you can get, let my hair get long again (My barber is in FL, seriously) so I'm getting scraggly looking again, friends starting to call me hippie.

The few times I have OCd I have gotten some looks but no hassles.

I doubt anyone will think i'm a cop.

However, there's no doubt they'll know i'm a member of PAFOA. My poofa shirt is my favorite OC shirt.

I've been asked once or twice if I was a cop, while dressed nicely, but on weekends, I'm casually dressed (usually shorts and a t-shirt). If I run errands through the week I'm in jeans and a t-shirt, both of which are probably dirty and/or have hydraulic oil stains on them and I only shave about twice a week. I highly doubt I'm mistaken for a LEO most of the time.

The first time I noticed a man OCing, I did think he was a cop. I didn't see a badge anywhere, but have come to see most detectives wear it next to the gun by watching those crime shows on A and E and other cable channels, featuring real homicide detectives, FBI guys, etc.

The man I saw was very well kept looking, dressed nicely. He had a little girl with him. I think he had a blue shirt on- yes it got imprinted in my mind because after I left I realized maybe he was a regular guy OCing.

2nd OC sighting same town, the guy was wearing a very loose shirt, not tucked in, shirt draped around the holster. Much more obvious LOL.

In Gettysburg, most of you guys looked far from cops! I know I didn't look like one!
    LOL, I am a woman...

Lightbulb Re: OC-Do you LOOK like a LEO?

I get asked all the time if I'm a police officer or in the military.

I politely respond "with THIS gut?"

I would say I could pass for LEO, depending on my attire. I wear a very tight fade for a haircut, I am overweight but have you looked at the police force lately?? I keep a well trimmed goatee and do my best to have a clean appearance. The only thing that would give me away is I have both of my ears pierced, my left one twice.

I have been addressed three times while OCing, one was a lovely older lady, and other two where guys who worked behind counter at French Creek Outfitters. One was encounter was ok, neither bad or good. The second was not good at all, but the guy was talking out of his ass and I told him that I knew he was and that was that.

When injustice becomes law, rebellion becomes duty!
