    Default M&P TRADE IN

Alright I guess im going through buyer's regret, but I really want to get a 1911. I was looking at the Rock Island 1911 which i have read many reviews and like what I have read.

Well the question is I have a S&W M&P 9c that I got 4 months ago ( an impulse birthday present) how much do you think I can get for a trade-in? There is about 700 down the barrel, taken care of it pretty well. I contemplated the 9v45 argument and gave in to the cost of 9mm. I would buy another but money would be tight. Should I just wait and safe up? Or any suggestions where I should go to trade in?

    p.s. I love the M&P and is a fantastic pistol but I have always wanted a 1911

    On a trade-in you'll lose a lot.

If you must sell try gunbroker.com or a shop that does consignment...

I'd be hesitant to trade in an M&P9c. Of course that's because I LOVE mine to death. Plus you'll probably loose alot on the trade.

Taurus makes a nice, affordable 1911 and you could save for it and keep the M&P for a cheap plinker. The compact still has great accuracy and a cheap trigger job makes a world of difference.

I'd consider trading you but you live to far away :P

The M&P should be able to be sold for 500 bucks without much of a problem, you can get an RIA in the 400 range if you can find them.
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Thanks, I may just have to wait. Im just a little impatient, and really want to add a 1911 to my fledging collection.

I shot a springfield 1911 (not sure on the model) but I wasnt that impressed. It was also a rental gun thats seen its fair share of shooting.

Don't get me wrong I love my M&P. I have recently shot a 45 again and wish that i thought a little harder about what my first purchase should be.

I agree that you should wait. If you trade your M&P in your going from 9 bucks for bullets to 16 bucks and thats quite a transition. Plus your wanting to add to your collection not get rid of one for another. Just my .02 cents.

Be patient! Don't sell or trade if you don't have to. Start saving and good luck!

    Keep your M&P.

Every gun owner should have at least one hi-cap 9mm handgun regardless of manufacture. When the sky rains blood and fire, aliens invade or Chinese paratroopers fall from above....It would be nice to have a hi-cap 9.

Save your money, and buy a 1911 later. At age 21, you have more than enough time to buy all the guns you want. Shoot the hell out of the M&P and you will be suprised that at age 32 you have 10 or many more handguns....they seem to find ways of following you home.

    Good luck.

I feel the same. I love my M&P9C.
    I love 1911, but I wouldn't trade for it.
I'd just save $$$ to get 1911 without trading compact
