State Pistol Range off 641
I wanted to see what other members use the state pistol range? I normally head out around 1-2 times a week. I never run into anyone that knows a thing about pafoa. I wanted to know who else went...

Re: State Pistol Range off 641
I guess that's SGL 230. I've never been there but I've heard negative about the people that show up there. And of course, two years ago Todd Getgen was murdered there with his own gun.

Yeah the SGL 230. I've experienced a few people there that were disappointed to say the least but overall it's a nice place when it's not jam packed.
Only things I've seen so far is:
People doing rapid fire with more than 6 in the mag
There is one couple that goes for hours at a time and doesn't seem to leave. They even bring a cooler.

If you're in the York/Harrisburg area, look up West Shore Sportsmen. It is rarely packed and there are no stupid rules. Yes, it costs $55 for the year (adult membership), but it is well worth it.

Re: State Pistol Range off 641
I shot pistols there two years ago before joining HH&A, which is closer for me and, of course, has more facilities. I don't hunt so buying a permit to shoot there did not appeal to me, even though I respect the Game Comission's decision. If I ever own a gun that would require a range longer than 100 yards then I might consider getting a permit, assuming that range near Peter's Mountain is still open.

My wife and I started our shooting experience there. During the week we would have the place to ourselves in the mornings. We did join West Shore and Mechanicsburg and haven't been back since.
