CEMTE or Galil?
Ok, so I'm looking to buy a new rifle. Only thing is, I'm not sure which of the two, cetme or galil, to get. They are both CAI (i know) and both priced fairly. I have heard people complaining about the cetme, but have also heard that they aren't as bad now as they used to be. If I got a cetme, i'd get a parts kit too just in case. The thing i like about the cetme is it is a larger caliber than the .223 Galil, but i like the Galil too. PLEASE HELP I NEED TO DECIDE!

Re: CEMTE or Galil?
I actually shopped around for both of these same options.... ending up getting neither but that was just because of money (or lack thereof)
Whichever you choose, I recommend taking to a gunsmith and getting looked over before you buy.
Just google the cetme and galil and headspacing quality issues etc and you'll find some results about what to look for.

Re: CEMTE or Galil?
cetme is just an all around bad ass rifle. I bought mine back in 2002 and maybe i never read much but i never read about problems with them. mine has always been a real work horse. From what i understand, a galil is basically just a ak-47 (chambered in .223) in disguise but i dont know enough about hem to pass true judgement. Although i do have 3 ak's and one ak pistol (draco). Maybe thats why i wont buy a galil. The CETME is one rifle i will NEVER part with. Its on LOUD bad ass rifle. For .223 i use my ar

I actually still have a full one still becuase i though it was cool to have. Well, if we all had crystal balls, we would be happy campers

Re: CEMTE or Galil?
CETME, as long as it AIN'T a Century build. It'll cost you DOUBLE what you pay for it, to straighten out their mess.
That aside, CETMEs can use cheap HK aluminum mags, @ $.97 a piece currently. Galil mags are $35/ea. 'Nuff said.
